The Program

PPC seeks to develop synergies with the Innovation and Startup Ecosystem, envisioning a more sustainable and resilient future in the energy sector.

“Power the energy of tomorrow” is the motto for the 1st PPC Power Challenge, where innovative ideas, solutions, and technologies are sought in 3 contemporary business challenges, which will contribute to the improvement of PPC’s services and operation as a power Generator, Supplier, and Consultant.

We make an open call for:

  • Start-ups and innovative SMEs
  • Research groups and laboratories
  • Innovators and teams with related innovative solutions

We are looking for those who wish to innovate and evolve with our support, providing the opportunity to develop Proof-of-Concept (PoC) with PPC for the pilot implementation of the best proposals.

Why participate

Proof-of-Concept (PoC)

PPC will consider cooperation for PoC co-development with the winning teams of the PPC Power Challenge.

Money Prizes

The three best proposals will compete for a total of 30.000€.

Consulting

Selected proposals that will be admitted to the Program will receive dedicated consulting services to improve their proposal and its presentation.

Submission of Proposals


Submission Procedure
The submission steps are as follows:
  • Register on the platform, accepting the terms of participation
  • Enter your group/company details
  • You choose the Theme that fits your proposal
  • Describe your innovative proposal by filling in the form

The language of submission will be Greek and English, with the use of English terms where appropriate.

Each organisation/group is only allowed to make one submission per thematic module.

Evaluation procedure
After evaluation, twenty proposals will move on to the next phase. There they will receive mentoring until their participation in the semi-final.

Evaluation of proposals
Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of specific criteria such as innovation, technological maturity, the proposed implementation team and relevance to the thematic modules.

Consulting Services
The best proposals that qualify will be informed by November 18th about their entry into the Program, where they will receive mentoring services from the Mantis BI website to improve their proposal and prepare them for its presentation in the Final.

Semi-finals
The twenty qualifying teams will be invited to present their proposal. Seven teams will be selected from the process to participate in the final.

Final
The final will take place in mid-December in an invitation-only evaluation procedure exclusively for the teams/companies of the Final, at a venue and times to be announced.

Each invited team will have the opportunity to present their proposal through a short presentation to a panel of PPC and Mantis BI executives. Each presentation will be evaluated individually to form the final score to determine the best proposal.

FAQs

How can I submit my proposal?

Registration can be done through the Program platform here. You are required to provide the email and personal details of the person responsible for the proposal.

After the first registration, a confirmation link for the registration will be sent to the registered email.

You can then proceed to submit your proposal for the PPC Power Challenge.

Register at Info Day, which will take place on the 23rd October, and learn more about the process and the benefits of participation.

You can submit one proposal per thematic area.
You can submit your proposal by the 31st of October 2025 at 23:59 via the innovation management software here.

Yes, the Program will award the three best proposals with a total of €30,000 in prizes.

At the same time, PPC will examine the possibility of developing a Proof-of-Concept with the distinguished proposals, with the aim of testing the solution in PPC’s operational environment.

Ενεργειακή Αποδοτικότητα

Η αποτελεσματική απόκριση ζήτησης επιτρέπει την εξισορρόπηση της προσφοράς και της ζήτησης ενέργειας, μειώνοντας τις αιχμές φορτίου και βελτιστοποιώντας τη χρήση των ενεργειακών πόρων.

Στο πλαίσιο του 1ου ΔΕΗ Power Challenge, η ΔΕΗ αναζητά καινοτόμες τεχνολογίες και λύσεις:

  • Δυναμικά συστήματα τιμολόγησης για την ενθάρρυνση της απόκρισης ζήτησης από τους καταναλωτές/-τριες
  • Εφαρμογές και Πλατφόρμες για την παρακολούθηση της κατανάλωσης ενέργειας σε πραγματικό χρόνο
  • Αυτοματοποιημένα συστήματα ελέγχου φορτίου για την απομακρυσμένη διαχείριση συσκευών και την εξισορρόπηση του Δικτύου Ενέργειας
  • Πρόβλεψη και διαχείριση αιχμών ζήτησης με χρήση Τεχνητής Νοημοσύνης

Ηλεκτροκίνηση

Η ηλεκτροκίνηση αποτελεί κεντρικό στοιχείο της μετάβασης προς μια πιο βιώσιμη και φιλική προς το περιβάλλον κινητικότητα.

Στο πλαίσιο του 1ου ΔΕΗ Power Challenge, η ΔΕΗ αναζητά καινοτόμες τεχνολογίες και λύσεις:

  • Έξυπνη φόρτιση (Smart charging)
  • Διπλής κατεύθυνσης φόρτιση (Bi-directional charging / V2G, V2H, V2B)
  • Αποθήκευση, ΑΠΕ και φόρτιση Η/Ο (Storage, RES, and EV charging)
  • Ηλεκτρικά φορτηγά (E-Trucks)
  • Ενίσχυση του Οικοσυστήματος Η/Ο (EV Ecosystem development)

Έξυπνα Ενεργειακά Κτίρια

Τα έξυπνα ενεργειακά κτίρια ενσωματώνουν τεχνολογίες που βελτιώνουν την ενεργειακή αποδοτικότητα, την άνεση και τη βιωσιμότητα.

Στο πλαίσιο του 1ου ΔΕΗ Power Challenge, η ΔΕΗ αναζητά καινοτόμες τεχνολογίες και λύσεις:

  • Συστήματα ενεργειακής διαχείρισης κτηρίων
  • Μικροδίκτυα και τοπικά συστήματα αποθήκευσης
  • Ενεργειακή αναβάθμιση παλαιών κτιρίων
  • Προηγμένες τεχνολογίες HVAC
